The Boston Design Center has a tremendous amount of showrooms.
With more than 1,200 luxury product lines of fabric, furniture, lighting, antiques, fine art, wall and floor covering. It also includes both kitchen and bath design.
The Boston Design Center showrooms' have the most extensive and innovative choices customized for interior furnishings in New England.
This space is over 350,000 square feet filled with home and contract rooms. Their
variety expands from domestic to international products. I was able to attend a trip to the Boston Design Center with Mrs. Pierce who is a registered Interior Designer. We had multiple clients who were in need of inspiration for their homes. Mrs. Pierce is able to buy samples and items for her clients because she has an account. A client can not purchase anything without their designer present, but any client is allowed to go with their designer and work together to find items a client feels would fit well in their home.
If you are in need of an Interior Designer they offer fifteen different designers
you can interview with to get a feel of who you would visually be compatible with.

While at the Boston Design Center, we went in with a specific mind set on what we were looking for. Although we were there for multiple clients needs, their is one in particular I am very invested in re-designing their new home. Their goal is to make their home look elegant, with a New York City essence. They were in need of a rug to bring their living room area comfort and a cozy feeling to tie it all together. While at the design center, as you can see in the picture to your left, their were many to choose from. Each hanging rack held up different types of carpets, textures, color, pattern, etc. I brought back multiple samples for them to look at to get a feel for which direction they felt was appropriate. Once they decided on the sample of choice, back to the Boston Design Center we went to view the full carpet and placed an order to purchase the perfect one.
The same client was looking to add detail into their guest bathroom. This is the one that visitors would use when entering the house, so we wanted to do something different. It was painted a dim blue, with one over head light. We needed to make it more modern, so we went towards wallpaper. Wallpaper is incredible because instead of having to re-paint an entire room, you can go a different route which is becoming more and more popular, but it can be costly. When choosing wallpaper, the options are never ending, between all of the books and hanging racks we could have been there for days. That is why it is important to go in with an idea in mind. We new we wanted to use a grass material because it gives it a textural feeling. I felt that the wallpaper as shown on the left, would be something they were interested in and they were! They loved the colors and thought it was a perfect fit.
