A client bought a home knowing they wanted to do renovations and re-model the structure of the house. The first thing that happens when doing this is we work with contractors from the beginning to come up with a schedule and make deadlines for when things need to be done by. It is important for Interior Designers to be on the same page with the contractors to be able to establish the size of each room, where each room will be located, and what that room will be used for. Although that is hard to picture when the house is just the foundation keeping it together as you can see in the photos above, we need to know these things a head of time so that we can figure out where the electrical wires need to be if we want to be able to do in-wall light fixtures, create a vision for the kitchen so we know where we are going to need to plug applications in, etc. This allows us, interior designers, to work ahead with the client to understand what vision they have for their home and to make sure that they are happy with our work.
The pdf, located above, represents blue prints made of the home that were discussed between the contractor and us, the designers. Everything that is written in black is the notes that we gave the contractor so we can add our input, approve, and have a full understanding of what we will need for the clients home.

These are the color boards we began to work on with the client. Since we were able to use the blue prints as a reference we were able to create and design the visions we had for each room. The color scheme we decided to stick with is neutral and cool tones, this allowed for us to be able to pick out paints, tiles, and begin to work with the space we were given. The finished product is scheduled to be done by May 2019.
